SYNLAB continues to support traditional, paper Chain of Custody (CoC) processes in receiving and scheduling samples but a growing number of customers are enjoying the clear benefits that our industry leading @mis data management system provides.

@mis is already the platform for providing all reporting for SYNLAB allowing access to data 24x7, from anywhere via secure login to the @mis portal at  Multiple general data output formats from pdf, Excel, csv and crosstab are supported as well as industry standard formats such as Equis, AGS (3.1 and 4) and Holebase allowing direct upload into client systems.  Data can be viewed by batch or by project, with easy grouping of individual results into project views, with history enabling data trending to be easily carried out.

The wider functionality of @mis can be deployed from the very beginning of a project, even before it has been won.  As @mis interfaces directly and real-time with our main laboratory management information system holding client specific quotes and ratecards it can be an excellent way to rapidly estimate and price up the chemical testing requirements of a potential project without having to speak directly to SYNLAB staff.

Planning of your project is made simple through use of @mis functionality to order sample containers with helpful supporting capability selecting the correct containers for the testing you require.  Timed pick-ups and deliveries can also be ordered using @mis.

On site @mis uses barcoded sample containers to reduce workload, capturing sample information either through a separate barcode scanner or via the new @mis mobile apps (Android and Apple versions).  @mis mobile is an exciting new development and allows borehole-side logging of field data to tag against sample containers.  Use of these data capture technologies minimises transcription errors and issues of illegible/unclear CoC that are the root cause of many practical problems in efficiently processing samples.

Ordering your test requirements is also simplified using @mis with sophisticated functionality allowing you to search for your saved quotes, select favourite tests and suites, or browse the full SYNLAB test catalogue if needed.  All relevant information relating to the tests, accreditation and LoDs is directly accessible.

Finally, real-time alerting functionality means you don’t have to wait to receive your full MCerts output report.  @mis allows you to input and save EA permitting thresholds or generic assessment criteria for whole sites or specific contaminants of interest.  As soon as a valid test result is available within the lab you can receive email alerts setting out any breaches – buying you valuable time in resampling or in discussion with your client about possible courses of action.
